The ratchet gear is what the ratchet pawl bites into, and worn teeth here means your lasher can slip and roll back on you. This replacement ratchet gear restores positive engagement so the lasher locks and holds securley between swaps.
We machine and heat treat this gear to the original spec, and it ships with the roll pin for a complete installation. If your pawl and springs are also showing wear, replacing the full set at once brings the whole ratchet mechanism back to new.
The installation of the Ratchet gear can be very difficult. We recommend sending in your lasher for these repairs. Gearbox timing can be compromised leading to premature wear of gears and shafts and could cause the lasher to lock up on the strand.
